Devastating Droughts That Africa Faces, As We Speak

The article is about droughts people face in Africa every single year, and focuses on three countries in particular. Ethiopia, Somalia and Kenya. There are tools used to predict the 2021 outcome for drought, and this upcoming year the chances are really high. This puts a lot of poorer people at risk of death by starvation. The article mentioned that around 260,000 Somalians were killed through starvation when two consecutive rainy seasons failed about a decade ago, and change absolutely needs to occur soon..

Personally, I really thought this article was important and I love that the author did more than just touch up on the subject. Their explanations and such were in-depth and gave an amazing explanation every time, and really gives the reader something to care about and understand. Another thing about the article that it mentions (which is really important) is that droughts are really complicated and stubborn. Especially now because of CoVID-19, there are more people suffering physically, mentally… and financially. It’s going to be really hard to make a large enough income because of the virus.

What do you guys think would be really good solutions to this and who would you want in charge of putting those solutions into action? In what way or way could the U.S. help?
